Cookie Policy

VirtualBooks keeps cookie use to a minimum — just what's strictly necessary to make the service work. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

• Sign-in session — set when you log in to your VirtualBooks account, so you stay signed in as you navigate the dashboard. Removed when you sign out or it expires.
• Flipbook unlock — if you enter the correct password on a password-protected flipbook, we set a cookie for that flipbook so you're not asked again for 24 hours. It doesn't identify you personally.

Both are essential to the features they support and can't be turned off individually while still using those features.

The viewer analytics we show flipbook owners (page views, time spent, referrer) are powered by a temporary identifier held in your browser tab's session storage, not a cookie — it's generated fresh per visit and disappears when you close the tab. We don't use it, or anything else, to track you across different websites.

Some features rely on third parties that may set their own cookies when active on a page:

• Google reCAPTCHA, used to filter spam on our registration and lead-capture forms.
• Google sign-in, if you choose to log in with a Google account.
• PayPal, while you're on PayPal's site completing a subscription checkout.
• If a flipbook owner has added their own Google Analytics ID to a flipbook, Google Analytics cookies may be set on that flipbook's viewer page — that's the flipbook owner's own integration, not something VirtualBooks controls.

These third parties are responsible for their own cookies; check their respective privacy/cookie policies for details.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Since our sign-in and flipbook-unlock cookies are essential, blocking them will prevent those specific features from working — you'll need to log in again, or re-enter a flipbook's password, more often.

We may update this policy as the service changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
